Rev. Barry C. Robison
Barry and Joan (Joni) Robison were married in 1980. Barry was born in Altoona and graduated from Hollidaysburg High School, Robert Morris College (now University) and The Methodist Theological School in Ohio. He has been in ministry for 33 years, serving in the York, Lewisburg, and Williamsport Districts. A Rhode Islander by birth, Joni grew up in the south hills of Pittsburgh and has diplomas from Peters Township High School and Ohio Wesleyan University.
Their oldest son, Benjamin, was born in 1986 with a rare genetic disorder named Menkes Syndrome and died in 1991. They adopted Lindsay at birth in 1987, and she is a surgical technologist at Holy Spirit Hospital. Their second son, Gabriel, was born in 1989, and teaches social studies at The Woodlynde School in Wayne, PA. Gabriel married Emily Knitter in October 2012, and they live in the East Falls section of Philadelphia. Ryley, a very friendly and energetic six-year old Westie and Cocker Spaniel mix, rounds out the family.
Joni enjoys playing and teaching piano and works part time at Weis Markets as well as in the Conference Camping Office. Barry's interests include Star Trek, hunting, golf, softball, volleyball and singing. Barry has sung with the Chi Rho singers since 1984, and Joni and Barry have been part of the Conference's Elementary Music Camp at Greene Hills since its inception in 1985, serving as deans since 1995 and 1992 respectively. Both enjoying watching and rooting for the Pirates, Steelers, Penguins and Nittany Lions.
